Piaule Catskill Retreat

Set on ninety acres above the town of Catskill, Piaule is a landscape hotel of twenty four minimalist cabins, a spa, and a central lodge. Montana Contracting delivered the structures with a precision that lets the architecture recede into the surrounding forest.

Each cabin is a study in restraint. Floor to ceiling glass, warm timber, and concrete meet at tolerances measured in millimeters, so the building quiets down and the view becomes the room.

The work called for close coordination between our field teams and the design team: protecting mature trees, managing a sensitive grade, and finishing every surface to a gallery standard.
